Effects of Weather on Mood
Today, when I was leaving from home for office. I was feeling lil depressed because of this grey weather. I was not getting why I am feeling depressed even after nothing is going wrong in my life, everything is normal than why I am feeling like something wrong has happened with me. Then I get to know there is some scientific reasons behind it. Studies say there is some link between mood and weather.
For some people, that can lead to seasonal affection disorder, a type of depression that affects people at the same time each year, typically over the winter.
The weather supplies many metaphors for our changeable minds. Moods can be Brighten and darken according to weather. Studies says in summer people are more cherry and positive. They like to help each other. At the other end few studies say as heat increases it reduces working capability and increases irritation.
Weather also affects our mental sharpness.
According to my observation it also depends upon where you live. Like if you live in a cold place, you like sun and that increases your positive energy and people like to hang out that time with each other. But if you live in a warm place. You wait for rainy or winter season.
Temperature between 5 to 20 degree is good for human. Temperature above this limit increases frustration and anger and temperature below this limit increases depression and nervousness in human.
However, the effects of weather on mood are not straightforwardly biological. They are also psychological and social. One reason why heat is associated with aggression is that people interact more in public in hot weather.
A study by US psychology researcher Matthew Keller and colleaguesshowed that beneficial effects of warm and sunny conditions on mood were only seen in people who had spent more than 30 minutes outdoors that day. Good weather even had negative effects on mood for people confined indoors, who perhaps gazed enviously outside at the solar fun they were missing.
Weather also recalls you some memories, like if those memories were good you feel good in that weather or if those memories were depressive or made you sad than that can made you feel depressed or sad.
